ABOUT THE COMPANY
1 + 1 PRODUCTIONS, founded in
1993 in Cleveland, Ohio...continues to educate and entertain audiences of all ages. Utilizing theatrics, presented
in a "Staged Reading" format, performers bring the written word from the page to the stage. The company highlights
the works of African-American literary artists, vocalists, thespians, dancers...past and present. With the use
of costume pieces, and accessories, many greats are brought to life. Available for tour year 'round. We are committed
to excellence, and to the entertainment, and education of audiences from every walk of life with one hour
of professional Theatre, followed by a Q & A workshop.
ABOUT THE
FOUNDERS
Conni Blair,
a native of Cleveland, Ohio has performed on various stages throughout the Midwest since 1985. She is a member
of "Actors Equity Union". Her debut began at East Cleveland Theatre in an ensemble production called, No Longer
A Strange Land. Her Theatre credits also include: A Raisin In The Sun, Women of Plums..., Colored
People's Time, The Rabbit Foot, and many more. Ms. Blair performed in The Trial... at The University
of Missouri-Columbia in 2004, and was last seen in Ba Ba King in Akron, Ohio and at the Cleveland State University.
Conni Blair is also a professional Stage Manager who has worked in the Cleveland area for the past ten years.
Renee Matthews-Jackson,
also born and reared in Cleveland, made her Theatre debut in 1987 in Joseph Walker's classic, The River Niger
at the world famous, Karamu House Performing Arts Theatre. Ms. Jackson's credits include: From The Mississippi
Delta, Zooman and The Sign, Fires In The Mirror, The Waiting Room, and countless more. Renee
was in the 2004 - 2005 production of Jar The Floor , at Karamu. She directed Steal Away by Ramona
King in October of 2005, at East Cleveland Theatre, In February 2006 she was seen in Sorrows and Rejoicings
by Athol Fugard at The Brooks Theatre in the Cleveland Play House, an Ensemble Theatre production, and in Jungle Book
as a cast member for The Cleveland Play House Youth Production. Her most recent perfromance was with an ensemble cast
at Karmau in the World Premiere, A Colored Funeral by Gregory Carr.
