The late, great Langston Hughes inspired my first influence in the literary arts.  As a child, I would listen on Saturday afternoons to "The Ossie Davis and Ruby Dee Hour".  I heard the poem, Motto by Langston Hughes, as read by Ossie Davis, and I was smitten:

Motto

by Langston Hughes

I play it cool

I dig all jive

That's the reason

I stay alive

My motto as I live and learn

Is dig and be dug in return

Since, I have written nearly 7,000 poems.   I do hope to be published soon.  Random House, WHERE ARE YOU?

You can find a few poems scattered around the Internet and at:

I have published one self-published chapbook  (1983) called; Poet Unknown, dedicated to all those writers who muse continuously, and their names somehow become detached from their works.  I am presently working to publish several books of poetry, plays (youth and adult).  My manuscripts are out there ten-fold.   All things in God's time.

I am the mother of four "adult" children.  I am blessed to have three grandsons, and two granddaughters.  I've been married to my childhood sweetheart for 37 years.

I am a poet, playwright, actor, instructor, and director. (in that order), and made my theatre debut in 1986 at the famous Karamu House Performing Arts Theatre in Cleveland, Ohio.  The litany of plays I've been seen in, is far too long to fit into this space.  You may find them under the heading; Theatre, Writing, Directing on this web site.   You may email me at poetandactor@hotmail.com
