My newest words...

Five Years Ago Today...  (August 29, 2010)

Fierce winds
in the face of instability
violated livelihood;
esteem nearly all drowned.

Yesterday's storm levies
erased now,
as human endurance
rears its head as a symbol of
strength and unity.

Albeit that we fail one another,
go instead the
other way?

Time tempered with tasks;
only humans can heal
destiny's
action, as we
yearn to fully recover.

Author Notes

Dedicated To:

Those who died after the affects of Hurricane Katrina, and faulty levies. May they rest in peace. Also, to those who survived, may they find peace within.

Garden Spot

Arched, and blooming body,

purely sunshine drenched;
warmed over in its broad behavior.

Manicured edges
filed for comfort's sake,
lawn mowed.  Landscaped;

upon mounds
and in moist gullies of wildflowers
curved and delightful
whispers on winding paths...

Lead us to our exclusive botanical;
ever flowing with nectar's
sensuality, in its lustful nature,
where juices steady drip
from passion's fruit always pleases.

eleventh dimension

when lack of noise
poises itself
upon my spirit

ushering drowsy

i hear it

brushed
with faint less
breath & breadth

its mass

cast into patterns
star lights & comet tails
galaxies yet a tune

in & out of slumber
respite is but
stilled moment-filler
in time's mis-step for sleep

to & yester days
an array of art
piqued at crossed-paths
for me & maybe them

relax now
insists my soul
& live life
with loving close

by my side
  it hugs
with emotion-packed
imagination

as we prepare
for the ‘morrow
of goals & dreams

sighs heaving
whole
to unconsciousness

Author Notes

This is your prompt:

A Clear Midnight

"THIS is thy hour O Soul, thy free flight into the wordless,
Away from books, away from art, the day erased, the lesson done,
Thee fully forth emerging, silent, gazing, pondering the themes thou
lovest best.
Night, sleep, and the stars."

~Walt Whitman
